Wedding Portraits
Capture that special moment to last a lifetime.
Traditional or non-traditional photography to meet your photographic needs.

Choosing the right wedding photographer for your special day?
Do your research. List all of your picture needs and desires and find the photographer who can provide them.

Cost and quality of wedding packages?
Cost and quality usually go hand in hand; if you are looking for an inexpensive photographer, chances are you may be sacrificing quality. Ask to see portfolio and price list of packages. Every photographer has his or her own system, so understand exactly what is included as far as coverage and final package are concerned. Packages may include proofs, enlargements, negatives, electronic files, colour and/or black and white images; anything is possible, but keep your wishes (and your budget!) in mind. Most photographers are flexible and do tailor packages slightly to meet the personal needs of each couple.

When to book a wedding photographer?
Book early to avoid being disappointed.
As soon as you have selected a professional photographer, put down your deposit to ensure that your wedding date is firmly booked. It is never too early to book especially if you know the photographer you prefer.

Who to include in wedding photos?
Generally the bride and groom, immediate family and bridal party are the people included in the main photo shoot. Also anyone special to the couple. For example, a favourite aunt, dear friend or even pets can be added to the list.

Where to take photos?
Anywhere will work but check out your options ahead of time and know exactly where you would like the photos taken and go over the details with your photographer. For outdoor locations always have a backup plan in case the weather doesn’t co-operate.

How much time to allow for pictures?
Determining out how much time to allow for formal pictures depends on the size of the bridal party, the number of other family members (not to mention small children andr pets) to be included, andhow many other groupings there will be. Traveling time between locations and how creative would you like to be are to be are other factors to be considered.
Meet with your photographer prior to ordering you invitations to make sure you have allowed enough time for all of the photographs.

Points to consider!

  • Anything will work, but to get the best possible picture it is best to plan ahead.
  • To avoid embarrassing or sensitive situations caused by separation, divorce or remarriage, inform your photographer of any unusual family dynamics.
  • The innocence of an overzealous amateur photographer can prove to be the biggest distraction and time consumer affecting the quality of the final product.
  • To make the day flow smoothly, inform everyone expected to be in pictures exactly where and when the photos are to being taken.
  • Touch base with your photographer about 2 weeks before the wedding to confirm times and places and to quickly go over the plans once more in case of any changes.

A great wedding photographer will…

… make the photo session an enjoyable experience

… always be ready to capture the unexpected

… keep it light, shoot quickly and efficiently but with flexibility to take any photos the bride and groom may have overlooked.

… take pictures without interfering with the essence of the day

… capture the moment to last a lifetime
